The C.I.S, What's it all about?

 The Naboo crisis (32 BY).

 The Republic was failing. It was corrupt, defenceless and filled with careless bureaucrats. Many systems were displeased as they were ignored by the bribed senate and wished a government where they were heard. The tension grew in the Naboo crisis, when the Trade Federation blockaded the peaceful planet of Naboo because of Taxes. Whilst the Republic bickered in the Senate, the Jedi Council sent two Jedi to quell the situation. After attempting to assain the Viceroy, they dissapeared and the invasion began with an army of B1 battle droids. The local gungans however put up a fierce fight in the plains, with bommas, electropole, small personal energy shield's and large deflector shields on the back of large fambaa. This was merely a diversion, as the Naboo royal guard, Queen Amidala and the two Jedi attacked the Palace District. They dispatched fighters to destroy the capital ship, deactivating all ground troops, and the palace was captured. The gungan battle halted as all droids immediatley shut down and the two Jedi killed a Sith Lord sent to protect Viceroy by Darth Sidious.

Tension Mounting (24 -22BY). 

 After the Trade Federation's humiliating defeat, Darth Sidious decided an organised governement was needed. He sent his new apprentice Count Dooku (also known as Darth Tyranus) to begin rallying systems to his cause. The members include, Nute Gunray Viceroy of the Trade Federation, Passel Argente of the Corporate Alliances, and Wat Tambor the foreman of the Techno Union. The Republic sensed rebellion but did nothing as they knew it could spread panic. The council met on Geonosis to determine a battle plan against the Republic. However several Droideka's discovered a spying Jedi Knight (Obi-Wan-Kenobi)and Count Dooku setenced him to death. Another Jedi (Anakin Skywalker) and a Republic Senator (Padme Amidala) were later found on the construction line trying to save Obi Wan. The next day, seven droidekas were about to kill the three prisoners (as the captured animals had failed) when a group of 212 Jedi led majorly by Jedi Master Windu entered the arena and begun the Battle of Geonosis.

Declaration of War (22 BY).

The Battle of Geonosis was seen by many as the opening of the Clone Wars. After Jedi starfighters disabled the orbital defences they entered the arena and began to attack the droid army. What they were not prepared for were the new droids the Separitsts had built. The B2 could take more punishment and were more aggressive then the B1's. However the Jedi were outnumbered 50 to 1 and there numbers swiftly fell. When all hope seemed lost for the Knights, huge Republic assault ships broke through the atmosphere and dropped a fleet of gunships, carrying thousands of clone troopers, dozens of AT-TE's and even Jedi Master Yoda. Only 45 Jedi aescaped that battle through the gunships and began to command the desert attack aginst Seperatist and Geonosians forces alike. The ground battle saw a crushing blow for the C.I.S as there new troops and armour were no match for the Republic's well trained troopers, artillery, armour and gunships. They made quick work of the Separitst forces and then moved into the space battle, as several Lucrehulk-class core ships were escaping to regroup on other Separitist planets. Most of the C.I.S. naval forces escaped succesfully carrying the Council to discuss war strategies.

The Clone Wars (22BY-19BY).

 The Clone Wars was a war between the Confederacy of Independant Systems and the Grand Army of the Republic. For the next 3 years every system would be dragged into the galactic conflict as both sides claimed victories and losses. Indeed for the first two years, both sides were in stalemate as they would lose a planet soon after regaining one.

Some of the best known battles in year one was the Dark Reaper Crisis (a weapon that uses the Dark Side of the Force to annihalte life), Defense of Kamino (critical if the Republic's clone troopers were going to survive) and the Battle of Dantooine (important to avoid counter attack's).

In Year Two, the best battles were the The Battle of Jabiim (a humiliating defeat for the Republic) and the conquest of Duro (co-ordinated the victory by General Grevious himslef). 

The third year saw some of the most ferocious fighting ever seen throughout the galaxy. The battles best remembered include The Battles of: Christophsis (very nearly lost because of Confedaracy cunning), Teth (a holdout containing vital Separatist plans), Boz Pity (to investigate suspicious activity), Coruscant (if Coruscant falls the Republic falls), Utapau (the death of General Grevious) and Kashyyyk ( a strategic section of the galaxy).

Mission to Mustafar (19BY).

 As the Separatists had lost Count Dooku in the Battle of Coruscant, General Grevious in the Battle of Utapau and were failing in the war badly the coucil had decided to discuss a peaceful end to the war. On Mustafar, where General Grevious had sent them for safety, Viceroy Nute Gunray received a transmission from Darth Sidious claiming that the war was over and Darth Vader would shortly arrive to take them to safety. In reality, when Vader entered the control room, he locked the doors and massacred the entire Council to bring an end to the war. Despite several pleas from the Separatists, Vader was ruthless leaving no survivors. After shutting down the entire droid army the Clone Wars ended and Chancellor Palpatine (aka Darth Sidious) took control of the newly formed Galactic Empire.

Holdouts (19BY-11BY). 

Whilst many Separatist worlds joined the Galactic Empire, several remained loyal. The loyal battle worlds include; Enarc and New Plympto which was in fact led by a Jedi General who killed many stormtroopers but inevitably died at the hands of the infamous 501st Legion.

 A Last Stand (11BY).

A few days after the Mustafar massarce, Gizor Dellso a Geonosian technician arrived at the planet to find the remains of the Separatist Council. Fortunatley he discovered a previously hidden droid factory. Once he had activated it, Dellso began to create his own droid army in the hope of continuing the Clone Wars. Supriingly quickly he succeeded and started producing large C.I.S battleships. For 8 years he secretley began building up his army on the volcanic planet and began his designs for a new far superior battle droid. Though it's name is never known, many assume this would be reffered to as a B4 droid. Despite his well planned strategy and great ambitions, Emperor Palpatine sent in the elite 501st stormtroopers who succeded in breaking through the defense fleet, entering the bunker, destroying the schematics and eliminating Gizor Dellso. An orbital strike then annihilated the base and the factory beneath.

Remanents (11BY-Present).

Although the Confederacy had fallen, many droids were used by the Rebel Alliance are found in trading througout the galaxy amongst thieves and even well organised businesses. Several weapons were taken by the Galactic Empire and modified for own use. In this sense the Confederacy of Independant Systems never really died away.
